Criticism Containing Books The Wednesday Letters
Forgiveness is the purpose of this feel-good novel about a young man who comes home to find his parents dead in each other's arms. Malcolm Cooper is on the run for assaulting two men in a dark alley one night. After years of losing himself in the Amazon jungle, he is notified that his parents have passed away and Malcom must decide if he will come to their funeral and risk being arrested, or stay in Brazil to avoid facing his lost love, Rain. When Malcolm finds the courage to make the trip, he

Nice message but the plot was so cheesy, cliche and forced I dont think it could even be made into a Lifetime movie.

One more for the "best read" group ---Jack and Laurel have been married for 39 years. Every Wednesday of those years Jack has written a letter to Laurel. With his wife cradled in his arms, and before Jack takes his last breath, he scribbles his last "Wednesday Letter." When their adult children arrive to arrange the funeral, they discover boxes and boxes full of love letters that their father wrote to their mother each week on Wednesday. Loved this book surprised by the ending

Ok. This received solid three stars from many of my friends. What? By the end of this relatively short book I couldn't wait for it to be over. Melodramatic, Sentimental and Condescending. All at once, folks. If I couldn't handle this at Christmastime, there's no way I would have ever liked it. Plus, the audio had all the feel of a stake conference talk. You know the sound you make when you stick out your tongue at someone? Well that's the sound I'm making right now after finishing this book!!!!! I know there are evidently a bunch of people out there who will beg to differ since this is a NY Times Bestseller......but REALLY??!! I found this book to be poorly written and predictable. The characters had conversations that were just totally unbelievable and ones that didn't even seem to match the characters themselves. And.....I have absolutely

This was a cliche feel-good book. It only took a day to read and it had a nice message. That being said, it's not great literature and is entirely forgettable. I didn't identify with the main characters and I don't really like books in which rape plays a large part of the plot. As far as a love story between the deceased parents, it was very sweet and satisfying. Having the family pastor turn out to be the rapist and suprise father was a bit much for me. I just don't think I could ever have my
