Well, shit sticks. I loved Meghan Quinn's The Virgin Romance Novelist so I was request crazy when I saw this book come up on Netgalley. Now I'm gonna admit, the sexy times in this book were hot as heck. Ms. Quinn nails that with a sense of fun that I do find refreshing. Goldie works in a bar as a waitress, think Hooters on steroids. She barely makes ends meet so she has sex with a dude for money to help with the bills.She catches the attention of the guy named Jett, he owns an exclusive clubLong story short Jett Colby is a man who gets what he wants. He brings down and out girls into his LaFayette Club and helps them. He feeds them, clothes them, gives them a job, pays off all their debts and makes them get an education. They are free to go whenever they like.All he asks for in return is a few simple things like wearing masks in front of the customers, dressing how he likes, using the name he gives you, never disclosing anything about being a Jett Girl.Oh and that you submit to

I really like Meghan Quinn, and The Virgin Romance Novelist was one of my 5-star reads for 2015. It was absolutely hilarious. So when I saw she had a series set in my city, I was quick to request it. Unfortunately, the storyline and characters are just not working for me. Don't get me wrong, the book is well-written and I find no fault with that. I just flat don't like these characters. The Romance World is a weird and at times wonderful place, the men and women transform in to heroes and heroines and we allow them to get away with so much more than their real life counterparts ever could. The hero has to kidnap the heroine and keep her in a log cabin in the mountains to keep her safe? Perfectly understandable and the log fire just adds ambiance.
