Relation To Books The Prison of Angels (Half-Orcs #6)
"This world is not safe. Your angels have done great things, but I fear their illusion of safety has been more damaging than they can possibly understand. The ancient evils may be gone, but new ones have replaced them."----
Five years have passed since the death of the war god, and now angels watch over the land. It should be a time of peace and prosperity. It is not.
With King Antonil marching east to retake his former lands from the orcs, Harruq Tun is thrust into a position of power he is completely unprepared for, leaving many plotting to usurp the throne for their own ends. Hovering over it all are the angels, enforcers of the law and wielders of the executioner's blades. Once viewed as humanity's saviors, the angels now find themselves struggling for a proper place in the new world.
Monsters in the Vile Wedge are stirring, and in the south the nation of Ker moves to protect itself from a rule from on high. War comes, and if Harruq cannot stop it, their paradise of angels may soon become a blood-stained prison.

Great book. The most amazing thing is you can really see the growth Daglish has made in his writing. Where the first few Half-Orc books were solid books, they lacked some depth and emotional conflict. You saw what was coming. This, along with his other series, showcases his improvement as a writer. He has gone from an okay writer to a great one. The undertones of this book are much stronger than his previous ones and I now look forward to everything he writes as much as I look forward to anyThe final battle has been won but what happens when benevolent creatures have learned only to fight, to hold only sword? Forgiveness is a difficult thing when vengeance feels so much easier to indulge in. These are the themes of this the 6th installment in the series and as always Dalglish handles the topics without a heavy hand and with characters that are utterly charming, realistic and profoundly human (even when they're not). Not afraid to pull any punches, the author will put characters
An enjoyable series with many surprises. the story line revolves around faith. Not only a religious faith, but faith in yourself and those around you.I found these after reading the Shadow Dance series with Haern. To say the least the least this all takes place in the same world. And seems to run in conjunction with the Shadow Dance series and the Paladins series. Characters are interesting, the battles are brutal and vicious at times. I don't want to give too much away of you have not read
I wasn't quite sure how the series would continue after book 5 but im glad David has kept going. the storyline seems great to me, I like how we are seeing things unfold after the war. big thumbs up from me. next book please! ha
This is a set up book. We've had 5 books of violent, gory, hopeless battles against a horrendous evil god and his fanatic followers. Now the same characters; minus those that died, moving onto another scenario of hopeless battle against the half animal monsters created by these gods in their first, now ancient, war.I haven't given up on this author but I didn't enjoy this series. I never felt anything for the half-orc brothers or their love life. The plot mainly seemed to focus excessively on
The end of A Sliver of Redemption was such an intense climax to an epic battle between the armies of the God's Ashuur and the evil Karak, that I assumed the series had reached its natural conclusion.Thankfully not as the sixth book, The Prison of Angels maintains the high standards of the series so far and with the promise of at least two further books to come, its all good news. The story starts five years after the death of the war god Thulos, King Antonil masses an army of thirty thousand men
Read all the books and found it a great way to spend some time on the different journeys
