All Ellie Harris wanted was a life of her own.

In a shortsighted decision, she follows her high school boyfriend to college, only to get cheated on and then dumped. And to add insult to injury, her overprotective family is suddenly clinging to her again, fighting to control every part of her life.

Bad luck follows her hasty decision and when her roommate steals her identity and leaves town, Ellie is left to clean up a gigantic mess.

Fin Hunter insists Ellie owes him seven thousand dollars from an online poker game and he won't stop until he collects it. Determined to keep her family out of her life, Ellie agrees to work for Fin in his illegal online poker operation. He's given her six weeks to pay off the debt.

Soon sparks are flying between them and the only thing keeping her from falling for him is the debt she still owes and the money she doesn't have.

At the end of those six weeks, Ellie will have to pay the mistaken debt or bet that her feelings for Fin will be worth more than the money.

Appraise Appertaining To Books Bet in the Dark (Bet On Love #1)
Bet on Us by Rachel Higginson is a angsty and comedic college romance story that I absolutely adore. Fin Hunter has a cocky attitude that I could not get enough of. He is a sexy big-hearted hero that I've officially added into my list of All Time Favorite Book Boyfriends. Ellie is also one of my favorite heroines , even though her stubbornness did frustrate me at times. Ellie's quick wit and sarcasm were hilarious additions to this story, especially when her comments were directed at her

Rachel is AMAZING at writing YA love stories. That's what this book is. Amazing. It's full of sweetness, with a side of cocky, snarky, and realness. This book could absolutely happen in the real world. I LOVED Ellie. She was sweet and MORAL and normal. The only time I wanted to slap her was near the end, but of course that was the point. We were watching this play out, as the reader knowing that she wasn't right, but just knew that all would be well in short time. And the 'come back together'

2.5 StarsI found it a bit too melodramatic at times. Actually, to be accurate I found Ellie way too melodramatic. In the beginning, I kinda thought she was a bit overly dramatic but I felt sorry for her. She was in a crappy situation after all. But as the story unfolded I found her just rather stubborn and way spoilt. I mean she is complaining about money but she was in this spot because of her choices. Which by the way I find ridiculous and selfish. The way this dealt with money, was a

This girl is willing to pay her roommate's $7000 gambling debt just so she doesn't have to tell her "controlling" family her roommate bailed on her. I don't get it. She is completely irrational. Then there's the virgin/player trope. Meh. The good news is I did like the supporting characters in this book. I want to know more about her brothers, but I'm hesitant to try another book in this series

3.5 StarsI really enjoyed this story. It was a fun contemporary romance with great characters. My biggest issue with it was the illegal gambling; Finn's reasons to run the poker games were in the right place but I feel there should have been some consequences.I listened to this on audio and I didn't love the narrator; I found her voice to be a bit high pitched and it gave Ellie an almost winey quality to her voice.

A light and gentle romance with some lovely characters and friendships, the central relationship is sweet and fun with minimal angst.Ellie is a naĂ¯ve girl, has 3 overprotective brothers and has led a sheltered life. she tends to expect the best of people even when signs suggest otherwise. Fin is supposed to be a campus playboy but seems to be a genuinely nice guy. This was a nice easy read just when I needed one.

All Bets OffI enjoyed so much. This marvellous and just wonderful and emotional book. Bet On Us, was so sweet. The book one of the series, Bet on Love. I have always adored all Rachel Higginson's sweet and loving stories so much and with her outstanding writing in this novel. The story flowed so brilliantly. Dealing with the strong sense of right and wrong of this world preface was the intention that brought these two brilliant characters together. Then to deal with that all their problems in
