A Prince Among Killers (Oathbreaker #2)
The second half of the Oathbreaker series, A Prince Among Killers, starts where the first book ended. This is one of those books that are nearly impossible to put down. You finish one chapter and just cant find it in yourself to set it aside. I just had to start the next chapter to see what was was going to happen next. The pair of books are both creative and unique. I just cant recommend them highly enough. Its a great story for both young and old. My only disappointment is that there arent
Im going to keep this short and sweet. The book itself is FANTASTIC but the ending makes me so angry. im just sitting here crying! WHAT THE HECK. SO YOU MAKE US LOVE NIC THEN YOU KILL HIM, AFTER EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING, ARON BECOMES AN OATHBREAKER AND STORMBREAKER IS GIVEN THE OPTION TO KILL HIM OR BE A TRAITOR?!?! ANNND, DARI HATES HIM FOREVER AND GOES CRAZY?!?! AAAAAAND AARON IS FORCED TO LEAVE THE ONLY HOME HE'S EVER KNOWN, EVERYONE HE LOVES AND NEVER COMES BACK?! FREAKING SERIOUSLY?! WHY
I'm not completely confident in giving this book four stars. I felt like the author was attempting to hurry towards the finish. It left me wanting a bit more to the story. I felt like this was meant to be a middle book instead of a conclusion and I feel like the author might have ended up with a more complete story by doing so. With that being said, I did enjoy this story very much. The concept of the magical system was simple but effective. I definetely do not regret reading this book.
This book picks up (quite literally) where the first one left off, so I suggest making sure you've got both books handy when you begin reading. I found this book as difficult to put down as the first one, and while I'm sure many would disagree with me, I was overall very satisfied with the story. I agree with others that the romance seemed a little unrealistic, but I felt the authors did what they could to explain it - after all, the entire series is threaded through with the idea of fate, so I
2.5 stars, alas. Much like the first book, this one wasn't quite what I expected it to be. Unlike the first book, though, this one was more of a disappointment to me. I'll try to put into words why, but I can't promise clarity of thought and articulation.Mostly, I did not like the "romance". I'm a romantic and I like romance in stories, but I would've preferred this book to have zero romance instead of what was in it. It just didn't work for me. Part of it was, I couldn't ever see the
as i read this book i was always struck by a sense of awe at the power of the magic wielded by the more powerful in the book. the magic concept was quite exceptional i think though i have see better,(malazan book of the fallen for those intrepid readers who can stomach it).

The only big problem I have with this book is the romance between Dari and Nic. First of all Dari is already leading on Aron and Stormbreaker. Second, ONE CHAPTER before he asks her to marry him she goes "Nic? Oh i dont like him like that." Third, the only knew each other for like two months. Four, after they get married they are all, 'oh how did i live without you, my life was incomplete.' Five, Nic totally broke the Bro code, i mean he didn't even have the decency to tell his BEST FRIEND ANDThe second half of the Oathbreaker series, A Prince Among Killers, starts where the first book ended.
