Narrative In Pursuance Of Books The Syndrome: Inspired by a True Story (Book #1)
Inspired by a true story, Nikolas Renzetti's life is not how he had planned it. Alienated from his children and on the verge of divorce, his escape from what was now reality, seems all but certain. For the first time, Nikolas begins to question his own mortality. His only daughter, Annabelle, has been killed in a terrible car accident. Her death was instantaneous--at least that's what authorities told him. The accident was unavoidable, or was it? His search for the truth may alter the course of his life forever. His wife Maria, having survived a cancer operation in the first year of their marriage, has turned on her staunchest supporter. Embroiled in a torrid affair, Nikolas is on the brink of a nervous breakdown. How does he survive his wife's attack on his character and her ruthless use of one of the cruelest forms of child abuse? A brutal fight ensues; will it threaten the freedom of Nikolas and his oldest son?
In The Syndrome, Paul Rega does a masterful job of extracting what can only be described as raw emotion from his audience, in his most compelling novel yet.
child abuse, parental alienation syndrome, divorce, separation, family relationships, dysfunctional relationships, parenting, pas, extramarital affair

I started this book not really knowing what it was about. I agree with the reviewer who said the whole book was about his business, its troubles, its successes, how much money he was making. It felt to me like he was whining throughout the book. Yes, he had family issues but wasnt there more to his life?My opinion only.Forget itI feel reading this book was a waste of my time. A marriage going down, very depressing. I skimmed a lot hoping it would get better.
Paul Rega. SuperbThe Syndrome. This book is based on a true story. You will follow the life of Nikolas Renzetti and his family. But all is not plain sailing, and his wife Maria is very ill suffering from cancer. When she falls pregnant and has a son Nikolas Jr they seem to be getting on fine. Nikolas owns a recruitment agency and is very good at what he does. Maria then goes on to have another 3 sons and this is when all seems to wrong. Will their marriage survive or not ?. This is a very
I'd have liked it a lot more if it had been billed as a memoir. The pacing wasn't right for a novel. It tended to focus a lot on dull stream-of-conscious whatnot about the narrator's business and emotional state while the events that held the most action and interest were described only vaguely and briefly.
This book should be taught in creative writing classes as an example of why editors are necessary, how not to write in the first person, and how not to make sure the reader will not have any sympathy for your sympathetic narrator.
Boring. Poorly written.
This was another book that I got for free after reading the synopsis and finding it interesting. It was an easy read but I was never really a big fan of it and I'm unsure if I would recommend it. What I most enjoyed about the book, which is what kept me reading, was the way it was written, which was similar to a diary. However, it does not inspire me to read more by this author.
