Holy shit, this was one hell of a ride again!Pursue Friendship can be read as a standalone book BUT, if you haven't yet, I strongly recommend reading Screw Friendship first because it will bring so much more colour to this one if you do (you can find my review on it here).Frank's a special kind of guy. Not spesjul special, but awesome special. A gentle soul with a foul mouth and a fascinating brain. And with a body women tend to drool over. RG Manse is genius! If Monty Python and Dave Barry had a love child with a mouth like Andrew Dice Clay, he would be the main character Frank Friendship! Frank is crude and blunt, but totally honest with his view of people and the world. Don't try to put these works in a box for 2 reasons:1) These books cannot simply be labeled, mystery, comedy, action, etc., because all of the best elements are there.2) You'll want to read this series again. There's no way to fully appreciate these books by
This is a book of contradictions... Is the killer a poor innocent man? Is the missing magician a master mind killer? Is there really a murderer? When you start reading this book, it seems that Franks is a man with bad luck who just wants to return with his wife, Irene. But Irene has a new boyfriend, Findlay, who is the friend of the magician Marek, who at the same time works at the cafe with Frank. Marek also works with Katrina, a gangster ex-girlfriend... Does it seem complicated enough? Be
Just as good as the first! I loved it ! Just as good and just as odd as the first one !!! My poor Frank, you just fall in love with his character, his quirkiness and all!!! I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for something out of the ordinary, it's very refreshing and the author is a brilliant story teller !!! I can't wait to see what happens in the next book !!!
I caught up with local writer R.G. Manse in an odd little cafe near Stockbridge in Edinburgh. Manse writes outrageous stories, closest to contemporary mystery, but not your aunties murder mystery. With a genre as popular as mystery, why not stick to the script?Too many elves, Manse says and swills the dregs of a tea gone cold.I blink at the non sequitur but Manse goes on to clarify.I used to read
Pursue Friendship continues the saga of Frank Friendship and his quirky adventures. I was very surprised and initially, a little bit apprehensive, when the author, R.G. Manse, decided to introduce a new slew of characters, and by omitting a majority of the main characters present in Screw Friendship. However, after reading 2-3 chapters, all my doubts were put to rest, since the new characters were as interesting as the previous ones. The author has also parodied the "tween-romance" novels in a
