In the new novel by the #1 New York Times bestselling “master of psychological suspense,”* featuring a cameo by fan-favorite Boston detective D. D. Warren, memories can be murder...

Nicole Frank shouldn’t have survived the car accident, much less the crawl up the steep ravine. One thought allows her to defy the odds and flag down help—she must save Vero.

If the girl even exists.

Arriving at the scene, Sergeant Wyatt Foster joins the desperate hunt for a missing child, only to learn that Nicky suffers from a rare brain injury that causes delusions. According to her husband, there is no child. Never has been. And yet Nicky remains adamant. She must save Vero.

For Wyatt and investigator Tessa Leoni, nothing about this case is simple. It turns out Nicky has recently suffered more than one close accident. Is she indeed delusional, as her husband claims, or perhaps she knows more than she thinks? Because clearly someone out there won’t rest till Nicky crashes and burns....

Critique About Books Crash & Burn (Tessa Leoni #3)
Like many people Im a huge fan of Lisa Gardners various crime mysteries and thrillers and adore the seamless way that each separate series she writes blends into each other in this particular novel it is Wyatt Foster taking front and centre as he investigates a mysterious car crash, a missing child who may or may not exist and finds himself caught up in a strange case with its roots firmly in the past. All of the books are real page turners but this one was a definite addiction as we follow

In this 3rd book in the 'Tessa Leoni' series, the private detective helps her cop boyfriend search for a missing child. The book can be read as a standalone. *****Following an automobile accident Nicky Frank is injured but able to crawl to the back of the car to attempt to rescue her young daughter Vero. Vero's not in the car, however, and the police search for her in the surrounding woods with the help of a sniffer dog. The dog can't find the girl's scent and - when Nicky is brought to the

3.5 starsThis book is fast-paced and full of questions...which are thankfully answered eventually!I really enjoyed this mystery/thriller - it is in the middle of a series but this didn't hinder my reading experience (although maybe I would have rated higher if the investigating characters were already people I knew because as it was they were 'just' investigators I didn't particularly care about, but there is clearly a lot of history there).Still a great read.

I have read a lot of Lisa Gardner's books now and I have enjoyed every single one of them. This one was no exception. The story was intriguing and half the time it was impossible to even know who our main character was! I found it very difficult to put the book down especially the last part as it raced towards its conclusion. A really great read and an easy five stars.

I was so excited to read this book, and as I started it, I remember thinking that it is so refreshing to read a book by Gardner because she never lets me down. I hate to say that after reading this one, I felt disappointed. I thought that Crash & Burn was strange and confusing. It felt very different to me than her other books, and wasn't nearly as enjoyable. The book features Nicky Frank, a woman who comes to the attention of Wyatt Foster and Tessa Leoni after she crashes her car in a

Crash & Burn was another riveting mystery from Lisa Gardner! As with most of her stories, I was glued to the pages as Nicky and Thomas mystery unraveled. Were thrown into Nickys story as shes crawling from a wreck, bloody and injured, soaked in whiskey and screaming for a child, Vero. Who is Vero? Where is she? These are questions that Nicky cant even answer herself since shes suffered three traumatic brain injuries within the last six months; the car crash, and two other separate home
