Da je neko te septembarske noci 1895. godine prolazio nadomak Lakica, sumom pored potoka ispod kuce Arandjela Lakica, video bi strasan prizor! Aleksa Lakic stoji pored vatre, izbezumljeno galami na jednog, sa rukama unazad za drvo vezanog decaka, golog do pojasa i bosog, samo u gacama, i sa maramom naguranom u usta! Iza njega sedi jedna vezana devojka, duge crne kose, u beloj, prljavoj i iscepanoj haljini, sa krpom zapusenim ustima i razrogacenim ocima, koprca se, bezuspesno pokusavajuci da se oslobodi vezova! Ali, niko nije prolazio sumom, i niko to nije video, jedino se iz neke daljine cuo demonski smeh neke zene, ili je to samo vetar, hucuci kroz sumu, ucinio da to tako zvuci!
