I started this one yesterday in honor of Fat Tuesday. And I was pleasantly surprised. I always enjoy these harlequin kiss novels, but I think this might be one of my favs that I've read do far. I liked the characters and the storyline. It wasn't quite as predictable as others. A fun, quick read. 4 stars.USA Today bestselling author of sassy, sexy contemporary romance. B- at AAR so 3.5 stars Im a Christmas story junkie (a confession surprising no one who reads my reviews, Im sure), so for the last month of 2014s multi-blog TBR challenge I decided to go after a different sort of holiday read. Why not Mardi Gras? And so I read Kimberly Langs No Time Like Mardi Gras. Its only been on my Kindle since February 2014, but it still made me feel nostalgic. Im pretty bummed that Harlequin is discontinuing their KISS line, as many of the books I read there have featured
New life, new start, new place. Jamie had it all to accomplish, no wonder she put the breaks on with Collin. Two different worlds, one attraction leaving their hearts open wide. With the help of his ex/ friend anything can happen. Cute quick romance with a little scream
3.5 stars. No Time Like Mardi Gras inspired some nostalgia. My husband and I met in a debauched atmosphere while we were both sober (not by choice, I assure you). So when the hero took the heroine's hand to navigate the crowds and assured her that he wasn't trying to "get fresh" with her, I recalled how my husband offered to buy me a drink and quickly added, "I'm not trying to hit on you or anything." I had the same reaction as the heroine: "Thank goodness he's not a creep. Wait, why ISN'T he
Good read. The hero is a computer game company owner helping out a buddy at the buddy's bar during Mardi Gras in New Orleans. The heroine is out with her roommate who is infatuated with the band playing at the buddy's bar, and she's bored. So the buddy asks the hero to step in. They hit it off, head out for a grand and glorious Mardi Gras experience (including some very hot sex), then get separated at the end of the night by the crowd. She goes home, chalking it up to a message from the universe
What I really enjoyed about this story was the way the author let the female lead evolve. Instead the almost usual strong man helps and comforts the weak woman scenario was replaced with a woman moving on from difficult times and becoming stronger. Jamie decides not to let her past determine her future and makes a choice to leave the mess behind but take the lessons she learnt with her into the future. The author also takes a wee poke at the media, the public and the almost frenzy like need for
