Last night I burned through the remaining 200 pages of the book To Selena, With Love written by Chris Perez. It might be because I grew up listening to her music, because I vaguely remember seeing her all over Telemundo when I was at my grandmothers house, or because I remember seeing the movie based on her life in theaters (I was very young), but while finishing this book last night, I struggled to keep it together and eventually I cried over the loss of this amazing woman.Today would have beenI was only five when Selena died--too young to know her while she was still living--but as a kid, I discovered the movie with Jennifer Lopez and I fell in love with the music and with the story of a girl and a family who came out of nothing and became stars.
